As you know, I have already finished reading this book, so I came to write some stuff about it :D hehe ok, I'm not a pro at giving book reviews, but I think this book is really worth reading. Ok I think the plot is a little unexpected some times, and I don't really feel that this book has a real moral/meaning behind it, but I like the way the author describes every scene so vividly as it I was in the picture. All in all I think that the whole book can be summed up in what this reviewer, Sena Jeter Naslund said: Her characters will hold you spellbound as you watch a marriage founded on the sweetest of intimacies destroyed by unexamined concepts of conventional wisdom, by lies and by secrecy. From the ashes grown new lives strong enough to defy convention and to define family simply as supportive love. Terror, pity, redemption -- what reader can ask for more? This beautifully written novel has it all.” Yup :D

 

Next, I spent the last 2 days reading this.

Oh my, I love this book :) At first, when I read this book, I didn't know that the story had so many twists and it just didn't seem like it would end but I wanted to keep reading and reading to find out what happens. I think that the girl Dawn, is really very unfortunate, and again, this book gserved it purpose in reminding me that there are a lot of people out there who aren't half as lucky as people like me and that I shouldn't take advantage of my luckiness to have such a good family and a trouble-free life :)

The howling wind went through the trees without end, causing the skin on her neck to prickle. Cassie stared at the block of stone before her, trying to unravel the knot of anger within her.

They had been the best of friends - two young girls who shared all their secret dreams, thoughts and feelings. Ever since they had first sat next to each other on the first day of school, Sara and Cassie had found in each other the love and care that their wealthy but busy parents had not the time to provide. Both girls spent all their available time together, doing homework and working in the gardens to discover the pleasures of simple gardening.  Suddenly they did not mind so much that their parents gave them no more than a cursory glance each night at bedtime. The weekends where the two girls were left to their own devices were not so daunting after all now that they had each other. Together, they even adopted a stray dog, which they affectionately named Tiger.

 

The girls had only a glorious period of six years together before Sara's parents decided that a divorce was the only way to settle their differences. Without any consideration at all for Sara's preferences or feelings on the matter, they went ahead with the arrangements, leaving a devastated Sara to be consoled by her best friend. There was very little Cassie could do except to provide Sara with the only source of stability she could hope for now. Sara knew that their friendship went beyond mere friends to that of a closeness that only sisters could boast of, and it anchored her in these times of distress and trauma.

 

But this was not to be the end of Sara's problems. Before her wounds over the divorce could heal, her mother decided that a change of scenery would be a welcome move. She thought not at all about whether it would be welcomes by Sara. Sara was left to pack up amidst tears and a heart breaking. She could not understand why her mother would be so cruel.

 

On the day of her departure, Sara hugged Cassie, unwilling to let go of the person who formed the foundation of her young life. But the time came for her to let it all go. The last words that came out from Sara's mouth were, 'I'll come back. Wait for me!' Cassie remembered Sara's promise and clung on to that hope. She knew Sara would definitely return. The years bassed and Cassie grew up to be an independent and intelligent girl. Sara and her carried on their friendship through letters nd telephone calles. In the years that they had to grow up alone, the two girls relied on this correspondence to sustain themselves. Sara had still not come back to see Cassie, bogged down as she was by her college involvements. But she resolved to return to see her best friend. It was a promise she would keep.

The weather had still not cleared. Cassie stood still mesmerised by the brown leaves being flung relentlessly against the cold hard stone. Sara was supposed to return last week. Cassie could feel the familiar feeling disappointment hardening into a knot of agner and hate. Sara had not kept her word. Clinging on to that, Cassie refused to entertain the memory of the telegram that had arrives a week go, even if it had explained why Sara would never return.

 

Even if it was because Sara had died in a car accident on the way to the airport.

 

Suddenly cassie screamed in defiance at the tombstone before her, "You promised! I will never trust you again." Tears flowed and she felt an indescribable pain in her heart.

  

 

   

 

THE Periodic Table is set to grow longer. Britain's Daily Mail said a super-heavy element is set to become 112 on the list.

 

The Periodic Tale is a crucial tool for scientists and arranges all the known chemical elements.

 

The latest element was created by a team of German scientists who the BBC said used a 120m long particle accelerator to fire charged zinc atoms at lead atoms. nuclei of the two elements fused to form the nucleus of the new element.

 

The scientists have not given a name to the creation. For now, the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry - which officially recognises new elements- is calling it ununbium, as "ununbi" is derived from "one to two" in Latin.

 

Professor Sigurd Hofmann, who led the team behind the new element, says scientists in Russia, the United States and Japan are already working on discovering more additions. he told the BBC: "It's certainly a race, and it's nice to be first."

that day we went to this department store in Jogjakarta and there was this perfume woman who gave daddy a strip to smell it and apparently he liked it so much -_-

then when we were back in the hotel he decided that he would go for a massage and so he took that perfume paper and stuck it in the buttons on his shirt :D

 

then mu, who doesn't like the perfume smell, said

不要带啦

Dad: ... (couldn't hear)

Mum:你是喜欢那个香水还是喜欢那个女人?

Dad:那个女人长什么样我都记不了了咯...
